During the course of The planet Wakes, we the members are chosen and blessed by Guthix, becoming a World Guardian proof against harmful godly magic. Yet somehow, someway, we had a link to Diablo 3 Gold Guthix well before he was alert to our presence; he explained he was woken with the Butterfly activation. Somehow our character might open the doorway to Guthix's resting place and activate the Butterfly where others (Orlando Smith) couldn't.
How am i special? What will make us special to Guthix before he was conscious of us? A better solution, quite simply, is the Stone of Jas. Because While Guthix Sleeps occurs before TWW, by the time we open the entranceway to Guthix's area we now have recently been empowered from the Stone of Jas. In our contemporary world in Gielinor, only two folks have been empowered from the Stone; us and Lucien. Considering the fact that Lucien was killed, we alone are the only ones empowered with the Stone of Jas.
Yet if you do, how could Guthix's door/Butterfly detect the Stone of Jas power within us? Why wouldn't it respond to a Stone of Jas user to start with?
I really believe the the desired info is twofold. First, the Stone of Jas was resting in the Ancient Guthixian Temple underneath Lumbridge, placed there by Guthix himself. He could reasonably assume whomever obtained the power in the Stone would've had to prove themselves within his temple to view it, in addition to have enough combat prowess to best the total amount Elemental he placed there to shield the Stone. This helps him ensure whomever reaches the Stone contains the right skills to consider the Gods after he is gone.
For how a door/butterfly could reply to the ability initially... Sure, there could be some unknown method Guthix would use to detect it directly. However, it is my belief that due to Stone of Jas becoming an Elder Artifact, the ability it imbues in people is like that regarding the opposite Artifacts we have seen thus far; it itself grants the capacity for mortals to battle Gods.
